  • I wanted to make pistachio cardamom cupcakes after seeing them on Silverkeys.writes.  Unfortunately, I couldn't find unroasted, unsalted pistachios, so used almonds instead.  I also substituted cinnamon for cardamom.  Ha!

Original recipe from Vanilla Garlic, and frosting from Chockylit.

Here they are frosted (I brought some to work):

One change I would make is to use less butter next time, as they were a bit oily.

Last weekend I made crepes for the FIRST time.  Ecstatic they came out the way they did :)

I was debating which picture to use, the one with or without flash.. I chose the one with natural sunlight.  I think it gives it more of a Saturday morning feeling, right?  Original recipe from savorybites.  Note, I omitted the 1/4 cup water.

When I was making these "Pita Pizzas," I felt like I was doing the cooking segment from the kids' show Zoom from PBS, haha.  Just take mozzarella, pizza sauce, toppings of choice.  Broil at 350 degrees, checking on them constantly or else they'll burn!

    Yumm...

Today I made Borscht from the cabbage, tomato, carrot, potato, celery, and onion I had.  I wanted to make oxtail soup, but I didn't have any.  By the time I was going get some, it wouldn't have been enough time for it to simmer.  So I used ground beef instead.  Nothing like hot soup with rice on a windy March day :)
